das Jahr neigt sich dem Ende zu. Und damit endet ein weiteres arbeitsintensives und ereignisreiches Jahr - für unsere Freunde in Birma und für uns hier im Verein.

Das Leben in Birma geht seinen Weg - auch wenn die Kämpfe im Land nach wie vor weitergehen und ihre Opfer fordern. Der Schulalltag lenkt von den täglichen Sorgen ab und lässt hoffen. Die Aufbauarbeiten in den zerstörten Gebieten schreiten voran. Und auch bei unseren Freunden in Birma steht Weihnachten vor der Tür.

Verein: Die neue Satzung war ein Kraftakt, die Formalitäten hierfür sind weitgehend gestemmt. Daniela hat zusammen mit Carolin wahre Wunder vollbracht und in unglaublich kurzer Zeit unseren Flyer neu gestaltet. Wir waren dieses Jahr zum ersten mal auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt in Kressbronn mit einem eigenen Stand vertreten. Es gab eine birmanische Suppe und kleinere Artikel zu kaufen. Wir konnten mit vielen lieben Menschen über den Verein und unsere Arbeit sprechen und das eine oder andere Interesse wecken. Ausserdem hat Hubert Kaiser wieder einen wunderbaren Kalender gestaltet und unserem Verein in einer hohen Auflage gespendet.

Wenn Sie einen Kalender möchten schreiben Sie mir eine E-Mail mit Ihrer Adresse. Eine Spende ist optional selbstverständlich jederzeit willkommen.

Birma verschwindet mehr und mehr aus unserem westlichen Blickfeld. Kaum berichten die Medien über das Land und die gravierenden Zustände. Das macht es nicht einfach Menschen wie Sie zu gewinnen die Interesse an Birma und den Menschen haben, die dort wohnen. Aus diesem Grund möchten wir verstärkt Aktionen organisieren, an denen wir Birma und unser Projekt vorstellen.

Helfen auch Sie uns - indem Sie möglichst vielen Menschen von Ihren Erlebnissen und Eindrücken erzählen, die Sie evtl. einmal gemacht oder erhalten haben. Nur durch Ihre Unterstützung - sei es finanziell oder durch Kommunikation - ist es uns möglich weiter unsere Freunde in Birma zu unterstützen.

Im Namen all unserer Freunde in Birma möchte ich Ihnen einmal mehr für Ihr Engagement danken. Sie vollbringen Gutes - bei so vielen Menschen auf der anderen Seite der Erde.

Ich wünsche Ihnen ein schönes Fest, und ich hoffe, dass Sie eine gute Zeit mit Ihren Liebsten verbringen werden. Zeit der Ruhe und Besinnlichkeit.

The year is drawing to a close. This marks the end of another labor-intensive and eventful year – for our friends in Burma and for us in the association.

Life in Burma continues as normal – even though fighting in the country is still ongoing and claiming victims. Everyday school life distracts from daily worries and gives cause for hope. Reconstruction work in the destroyed areas is progressing. And Christmas is just around the corner for our friends in Burma too.

Association: The new statutes were a major undertaking, and the formalities for this have largely been completed. Daniela and Carolin have worked wonders, redesigning and printing our flyer in an incredibly short time. This year, we had our own stand at the Christmas market in Kressbronn for the first time. We sold Burmese soup and small items. We were able to talk to many lovely people about the association and our work and spark some interest. In addition, Hubert Kaiser has once again designed a beautiful calendar and donated a large number of copies to our association.

If you would like a calendar, please send me an email with your address. A donation is optional, but of course always welcome.

Burma is disappearing more and more from our Western field of vision. The media hardly reports on the country and the serious conditions there anymore. This makes it increasingly difficult to attract people like you who are interested in Burma and its inhabitants. For this reason, we would like to organize more events to introduce Burma and our project.

Please help us by telling as many people as possible about your experiences and impressions, if you have any. Only with your support—whether financial or through communication—can we continue to support our friends in Burma.

L'année touche à sa fin. Elle marque la fin d'une nouvelle année riche en événements et en travail, tant pour nos amis en Birmanie que pour nous, membres de l'association.

La vie en Birmanie suit son cours, même si les combats se poursuivent dans le pays et font des victimes. La vie scolaire quotidienne détourne l'attention des soucis quotidiens et donne lieu à l'espoir. Les travaux de reconstruction dans les zones détruites avancent. Et pour nos amis en Birmanie aussi, Noël approche à grands pas.

Association : les nouveaux statuts ont demandé beaucoup d'efforts, mais les formalités sont désormais en grande partie terminées. Daniela et Carolin ont accompli un véritable miracle en repensant et en imprimant notre flyer en un temps record. Cette année, nous étions pour la première fois présents avec notre propre stand au marché de Noël de Kressbronn. On y vendait de la soupe birmane et des petits articles. Nous avons pu parler de l'association et de notre travail à de nombreuses personnes sympathiques et susciter l'intérêt de certaines d'entre elles. De plus, Hubert Kaiser a de nouveau créé un magnifique calendrier et en a fait don à notre association en grand nombre.

La Birmanie disparaît de plus en plus de notre champ de vision occidental. Les médias ne parlent presque plus de ce pays et de la situation grave qui y règne. Il devient donc de plus en plus difficile de gagner la sympathie de personnes comme vous, qui s'intéressent à la Birmanie et à ses habitants. C'est pourquoi nous souhaitons organiser davantage d'actions pour présenter la Birmanie et notre projet.

Aidez-nous en racontant à autant de personnes que possible vos expériences et impressions, si vous en avez. Ce n'est que grâce à votre soutien, qu'il soit financier ou communicationnel, que nous pouvons continuer à aider nos amis en Birmanie.

Au nom de tous nos amis en Birmanie, je tiens à vous remercier une fois de plus pour votre engagement. Vous faites du bien à tant de personnes à l'autre bout du monde.
